Phys212 —Undergraduate Seminar
Purpose of this course
Physics department faculty will give presentations on their
research and its relevance. Towards the end of the semester we will
discuss techniques for giving effective scientific presentations, and
students will present short talks.
Class Schedule
Thursdays, 2pm — 3.20pm in Small Hall Room 122.
Policies
You are expected to attend as many of the class sessions as
possible. Some speakers may provide reading materials associated with
their presentation, and as well as this you are encouraged to do independent
investigation of the topics. At the end of the semester each student
will present a short talk on a topic of their choosing, taken from the
one of the topics covered over the semester, or on an important
historical physics experiment or theoretical breakthrough.
The class will be graded pass/fail, with delivery of the talk being
required for a pass.
Schedule
Will be updated as the semester progresses.
