Nuclear Theory at the College of William and Mary
Our group performs theoretical calculations relevant to nuclear and
hadron physics within the theory of
quarks and gluons, Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD). We have a
particular interest in the numerical technique known as lattice
QCD. We mentor postdoctoral researchers and graduate and undergraduate
students pursuing research in nuclear theory, and we maintain a
close connection with the nearby Jefferson Lab, where we are members
of the Theory Center.

Three students in the group awarded DoE SCGSR fellowships to
perform research at Jefferson Lab
The Office of Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR)
program creates a pathway for students to advance their PhD thesis
research while working at a Department of Energy (DOE) National
Laboratory, collaborating with world-class scientists, and using
state-of-the-art facilities and cutting-edge scientific
instrumentation. Congratulations to Taylor Powell, Ben Slimmer and Alex
Sturzu who were selected in the most recent round..

Congratulations to Felipe Ortega-Gama
Felipe recently successfully defended his PhD thesis entited,
Transitions to Two-Hadron States from Quantum Chromodynamics, and will now take up a postdoctoral position
at Berkeley.
He is pictured with his defense committee.
Congratulations, Felipe!
